  From July 13th - 15th, Officer Robert Dean completed the International Police Mountain Bike Associations (IPMBA) Police Cyclist Course.The training was held in Cheviot Ohio and consisted of eleven units including: Bike Handling & Vehicular Cycling, Bike Fit, Group Riding, Hazard Recognition & Common Crashes, Obstacle Clearing,
  
  Riding Techniques, Patrol Procedures, Nighttime Patrol, Community Policing, Basic Maintenance, Legal Issues & Traffic Laws, and Fitness & Nutrition.This demanding class involved over 20 hours of on-bike time to develop riding skills.Having graduated from this course Officer Dean joins Officers Miller and Johnston in the departments Bike Patrol program.If you have any questions about the departments Bike Patrol program you can contact Officer Dean via email.

  This summer has brought about two long needed accomplishments within the police department.In June Officer Robert Dean (below) was promoted to a full time position.Officer Dean joined the department as a part time officer in August of 2002 after graduation from the Scarlet Oaks Police Academy.

  On November 1, 2004, at Beechwoods Elementary School, Officer Robert Dean, along with other Community Leaders from Greenhills and Forest Park participated in the kick off of Right to Read Week.
  
  The Community Leaders that participated in this program were assigned a classroom and given a book to read to the children.Officer Dean was assigned to Miss Murray's 1st grade class.

  After reading the book to the children Officer Dean stayed around so the children could ask him questions about being a Police Officer.
