   Matt worked as an employment lawyer in the City from 1991 until the creation of byrne·dean in September 2003.Between 1995 and 2003 he was with Simmons & Simmons where from 1998 he was Head of its innovative Employment Law Training team.
   
   Matt's primary professional focus since 1998 has been on developing and delivering interactive management training products and explaining employment law in an accessible way.Matt's extensive experience of training, coaching and mentoring in 16 different legal jurisdictions over the last eight years has broadened his expertise away from just employment law to encompass diversity, human resource management and cultural and behavioural change. byrne·dean is a multi-disciplinary consultancy transforming working environments.
   
   Matt chaired the Training Sub-Committee of the Employment Lawyers Association between 2002 and April 2006 and was chair of the Islington Law Centre from 1998 - 2004.

   Matt DeanMatt is a founder director of Byrne Dean, an employment relations consultancy in (or avoiding) work place problems.From 1998-2004 he was Chair of Islington Law Centre, where he worked as a volunteer from 1990.
   
   Matt worked in the City from 1989 - 2003, at Richards Butler and Simmons & Simmons where he created and headed up their innovative client training team.He now works mainly as an adviser/coach in investment banks, increasingly internationally.Before his legal career he worked in consumer marketing for Unilever.
   
   Matt was on ELA's Training Committee from 1998 until stepping down as its Chair (after 4 years) in May 2006.As Chair of Training Matt oversaw great developments in ELA's training programmes.

   Matt qualified in 1991 and developed a very wide employment experience principally of day-to-day human resources advice, employment tribunal litigation (particularly discrimination) and corporate support work before becoming head of the employment law training group in 1998.
   
   Since then Matt has been primarily engaged in developing and presenting risk management products.His 'traditional' advice is becoming increasingly specialised in the harassment area.
   
   He also frequently comments on employment law issues in the media, including both television and radio, contributes to training videos and speaks at conferences both in the UK and abroad.
   
   Background
   
   Before qualifying as a lawyer Matt participated in Unilever PLC's Management Development Scheme and worked as a brand manager for them in East Asia.
   
   He is currently on the Management Committee of the Employment Lawyers Association and Chairs their Training Sub-committee.He is also Chair of Islington Law Centre where he conducted a weekly employment law advice session between 1992 and 1998, gaining valuable experience of being an employee's adviser.
