Its owners are partners Liane Dean and Sheri Rose.

"We wanted a place in kind of the Springhurst area that we could go to buy quality seafood," said Dean. "The Springhurst area, we just felt, was kind of lacking in that area."
Dean, who will work full-time in the business, resigned as director of Genesis HealthSpa in Holiday Manor shopping center in April to start The Seafood Connection. She said it was her work at the health center, especially with setting up its nutrition and exercise program, that helped her see the great need for healthy food made available for people with little time.
Businesspeople today are "short on time," said Dean, who has degrees in biology and exercise physiology. Good nutrition is "where a lot of people fail."
She said The Seafood Connection will cater to busy working people who are looking for fast cooking options. "I want to have things that are pre-marinated," Dean said.
In addition to fresh seafood, the shop will offer sides such as roasted vegetables or salmon salad.
The other area locations of The Seafood Connection -- at 1765 Bardstown Road and 3922 Chenoweth Square -- are separate from the new venture being started by Dean and Rose.

"I think it's going to be really, really unique," said Dean.
