Homer Dean Miller, 75, of Nitro, passed away Feb. 28, 2004, at Thomas Memorial Hospital.

Dean was a graduate of Corning High School, Corning, Iowa and attended Abilene Christian College in Abilene, Texas.He was retired from Columbia Gas of West Virginia with 31 years of service and retired from the West Virginia Department of Health with six years of service.Dean had served three terms as a Nitro city councilman and was a 10-year member of the Nitro Development Authority.He served his country in an Army MASH unit during the Korean Conflict.He was a member of Nitro Church of Christ and a retired Church of Christ minister with 26 years of service.
