Darci joined HfHDC on August 23, 2005 as the PR and Marketing Coordinator. Her position was funded by Americorps*VISTA, nearly a 40-year-old national service program dedicated to helping fight poverty in the United States. Darci holds a Bachelors of Science in Communication Studies from the University of North Texas. She came to HfHDC from Sanijet Corporation, Levenson PR and the Dallas Arboretum where she held Public Relations positions. Darci has been assigned to the HfHDC to help develop their PR and marketing strategy and bring awareness to the community about Habitat for Humanity of Denton County's programs, benefits, and how individuals and organizations alike can get involved.
In exchange for a year of full-time Americorp*VISTA service, she received a modest living allowance along with health insurance, training, travel and relocation expenses if needed. After completing her service she received an education award of $4,725 that can be use to help pay for future education or pay off qualified student loans.
Darci is working to develop a comprehensive Public Relations and Marketing plan and image for HfHDC affiliate including a PR and marketing strategy. After her AmeriCoprs service ended in August 2006 Darci was hired by Habitat for Humanity of Denton County as Director of PR and Marketing. Darci said "the most fulfilling part of her job is when she sees the hard work she puts into informing the community about Habitat's programs motivate them to take action and truly change the lives of those living in substandard house." -
