My current position with the Bend Ronald McDonald House is an extraordinary culmination of my life and work experience that challenges and inspires me daily. I serve as the "face" of and spokesperson for RMH in our community, as well as the central contact for all donors and sponsors, coordinator of all media, print materials and promotion, as well as the coordinator of all existing and new events, whether they be generated by RMH or an outside organization of group. The Central Oregon community is wonderfully generous and has been passionate in its support of Ronald McDonald House Charities since we first opened our doors in 1997. Here is a brief synopsis of my previous work experience from 1995 forward: 10+ years of community college and university events planning, program marketing, promotion, and public relations, operating independently, with minimal supervision, in a dynamic, budget-sensitive environment; 10+ years of multilevel program coordination and administrative responsibilities as a highly visible, proactive liaison linking faculty, staff, students, and prominent community members and organizations in support of multicultural arts programming and higher education; 10+ years of creating, writing and distributing promotional and other program materials, including press releases, event posters, promotional brochures, newsletters, web-zines, and year end reports, through a variety of media channels including major market television, radio, and print media; 5+ years of teaching, training and facilitation for small and large groups in the business and educational setting on topics ranging from intercultural/diversity issues, to public speaking/presentation skills, to conflict resolution. Since beginning my position with RMHC, I have had the opportunity to infuse my skills, talents, passion and vision into RMHC’s established community of donors, supporters and those who have been the recipients of our services. As one who strongly believes in and models community service in a variety of areas, I can't imagine a more satisfying work environment than my own. However, I am always open to new personal and professional opportunities and challenges, as well as inquiries from others considering a shift from the for-profit world to a career in the non-profit sector. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of assistance..
