Laurance joined Madgwicks in August 2008 and brings diverse experience to both the property and construction, and the corporate finance teams.
In the property area Laurance acts for a number of medium and large developers and investors and is active in negotiating and structuring large-scale acquisitions for high rise multi-use and broadacre developments including joint venture and syndicated structuring, and is also active in aged care and hospitality based acquisitions and development.
Laurance is also experienced in subdivisions, debt and equity options, property options, put/call agreements and sale/lease back transactions.
On the finance side Laurance represents major banks and finance companies, specialist financiers, private lenders and corporate borrowers, and is also active in structured and equity arrangements particularly in the construction area.
Laurance's expertise in corporate finance also extends to drafting and negotiating loan facility and security documentation, equity participation, debt finance and syndications.
Laurance's combined experience in property and finance allow him to provide the full suite of legal advice to developers and financiers, from the commencement of a development project, including funding and finance requirements as well as contractual and legal due diligence, right through to the completion of the project.
Additionally, Laurance is a committee member of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA), a member of the Australian Property Institute (API) and is active in a number of wine industry groups and forums.
