  When childhood best friend Judge Laura Prosser Davis came to town for a visit recently, Sid McDaniel planned a luncheon for some of their parents' nearest and dearest friends. Sid's mother, Be' Scott Thomas, passed away four years ago and Laura's mother, Wesie Peterman Prosser, who grew up in Alexandria, drove up from Baton Rouge for the event.   Laura Prosser Davis was born and raised in Baton Rouge.She received a BS in Psychology and Educational Research from the University of Virginia in 1972 and a M.Ed. in Counseling from the University of Virginia in 1974.She spent ten years teaching and counseling on the high school level before entering LSU Law School.After working as a law clerk in the 19th Judicial District Court, she opened a private practice as a mediator and arbitrator of civil and family disputes in 1993.She was elected Baton Rouge City Court Judge in 2000.She has two sons, Amos (23) and Benjy (21).

  Laura Davis has been an adjudicator and choreographer throughout the country for the past 20 years and currently serves as competition director for the National Contest of Champions at Walt Disney World in Orlando , Florida.She is also the executive director , owner , and partner of Starmakers Dance and Performance Camps , Inc..She is a former Kilgore College Rangerette officer and Swingster and has a bachelor's degree in Dance from the University of North Texas and a master's degree in physical education from University of Texas-Tyler.Laura is a former choreographer and assistant director for the Rangerettes and she has choreographed numerous bowl game shows and performances for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.Laura currently resides in Dallas with her two sons , Blake and Bryse.
