Karie practices with Burr & Forman's ERISA and Employee Benefits group and the Labor and Employment group.In addition to practicing employee-related law, Karie also has extensive experience representing owners, general contractors and subcontractors in a variety of construction-related disputes.She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Karie received a B.A. from Emory University, J.D. from Washington & Lee University School of Law, and M.TX in Taxation from Georgia State University.During law school, she was Editor-in-Chief of the Washington & Lee Race & Ethnic Ancestry Law Journal.She was also selected by the W&L faculty as the recipient of two awards.She presents regularly at seminars on benefits and employment issues.Karie also teaches a course in federal income taxation at John Marshall Law School and has guest lectured on construction law topics at Southern Polytechnic State University.She is a member of the Board of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, and in 2005, she was named as a Georgia Super Lawyer Rising Star.
