Davis-Miller to take reins of Daily Progress

Former JDP advertising director Amy Davis-Miller has been named interim publisher to fill the position vacated by former publisher Bill Morgan.

Davis-Miller, who came to the JDP in June, 2002 as a sales representative, was promoted to advertising director in September that same year.
"Working with Bill in the past year as advertising director has taught me a lot," she said."We have a strong staff in place here, and I look forward to working with the team to continue meeting the high standards Bill set for this paper.
Davis-Miller got her BBA in marketing from Stephen F. Austin University in 1997.During college, she worked in advertising sales, where she said she first fell in love with the newspaper industry.
"This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for me," she said."I'm proud to be a part of the Jacksonville community.A strong local newspaper is a vital part to any growing area."
Davis-Miller is married with a 12-year-old daughter.
