Ms. Sharmane Davis-Brathwaite

Sharmane Davis-Brathwaite: Sharmane Davis-Brathwaite received her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in English and a minor in Political Science from Allegheny College in 1991.  She received her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 1994, where she'd worked as both a Legal Practice Teaching Assistant and a Research Assistant.  In 1995, Ms. Davis-Brathwaite was admitted to both the Virgin Isalnds Bar and the Massachusetts Bar.  She is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.  She is a member of the Virgin Islands Bar Association serving on the Continuing Education Committee in 2006, and as Chairman of the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee in 2003-2004.  Ms. Davis-Brathwaite was a Legal Advisor for the 3rd, 6th and 7th Annual Virgin Islands High School Appellate Moot Court Competitions.

Ms. Davis-Brathwaite has been a civil litigator in the Virgin Islands since 1994, focusing on the defense of personal injury and employment law matters. From 2001-2004, Ms. Davis-Brathwaite worked as an in-house attorney at the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority where she was appointed Acting General Counsel from August 2003 through February 2004.
