Charlotte County Sheriff John Davenport held an awards ceremony Thursday to announce the annual CCSO "Members of the Year" awards for 2007.

"Due to DFC Bordner's quick actions and risk to his own life, he was able to prevent an accident victim from receiving further injury," Davenport said.
Corrections Member of the Year was received by Deputy 1st Class Edward Hill.On April 1, while Hill was off-duty and returning to his home, he observed two suspicious men walking in his neighborhood.He took the extra time get good physical descriptions and contacted the CCSO.He went back to the area once deputies arrived and was able to describe both men and pick one out of a photo lineup.

Davenport said, "Because of Erica Marsh's keen observations and actions, the child was removed from this dangerous situation."
