    Jerri Davenport from Principia Academy decided to have her sophomores teach the grammar unit.She challenged them with a detailed rubric for a teaching process based on Terry's way of working with student teachers--PLAN, ORGANIZE, LEAD, ASSESS, REFLECT (POLAR).Helpful handouts included: a pre-teaching survey, a post-teaching questionnaire, a rating scale with descriptions of five levels of ability--minimum to excellent--within each POLAR part.Explanations of her video clips included descriptions of the students' growth during the weeks they prepared and taught the whole class.
