"As otolaryngologists, we feel very strongly, and studies confirm, that using the pneumatic otoscope is the ideal way of making the diagnosis of ear disease," said David H. Darrow, MD, DDS, FAAP, Associate Professor of Otolaryngology and Pediatrics, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk.

"The problem is that there really is very little education in use of the pneumatic otoscope at the medical student or pediatric residency level. It is an instrument that people presume all along that you've been taught to use."

In addition to Dr Darrow, faculty members Andrew J. Hotaling, MD, FACS, FAAP, Professor, Otolaryngology and Chief of Chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology at Loyola University Medical Center, and Bruce Maddern, MD, FACS, FAAP, Pediatric Otolaryngologist and Chief of Otology at Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, will teach the workshop.
