We can still find nice homes and townhomes under $200 , 000 , said Jim Danzl , a broker associate for RE/MAX of Longmont. It ( Longmont ) has been trailing behind in price , but the quality of life is good. RE/MAX sales statistics show 321 residential homes sold in Longmont during the fourth quarter while 200 sold in Boulder. There are lots of people who like the culture of Boulder and Lafayette , but they can live in Longmont less expensively , Danzl said.
While incoming companies often check real estate prices in Longmont , Danzl said , they also consider the quality of local education , access to Denver International Airport , the nearby universities – all elements that make up a good quality of life.
Longmont Mayor Leona Stoecker said the city's amenities have played a big role in its growth. If people have families , this community meets their needs. It's a very family oriented community. We are getting more recreational opportunities , and we have excellent schools , Stoecker said.
A lot of supportive services have sprung up , like Home Depot , restaurants and hotels , Convergent's Magenis said.
