The incident that bothers residents the most was a visit from an unidentified survey crew in June. A resident asked surveyors where they were from and was told that they were subcontractors working for Tri-Rail, measuring the signal system for aerial wiring.

Drago called Tri-Rail to check the information and was told the crew wasn't from there.

Her leg was trapped between the dashboard and door from the impact of the crash, said Wendy Danysh, spokeswoman for the Boynton Beach Police Department.

Police closed westbound Gateway Boulevard, off Congress Avenue, for about three hours after the 6:45 p.m. crash outside the Mahogany Bay apartment complex, where residents lined the sidewalk and patrons of a nearby Italian restaurant came outside to see what happened.

After getting off of northbound I-95, the woman's boyfriend stopped behind the pickup at a red light at Gateway. The battling started after the truck turned tightly into the far left lane but then veered in front of the SUV into a middle lane, Danysh said.

The driver of the SUV told police the pickup would speed up and slow down behind him, and then frequently changed lanes to pass him. Both drivers stopped for red lights but continued to antagonize one another with hand gestures and yelling, Danysh said.

The driver of the SUV told police that after he passed through the Congress/Gateway intersection, he wanted to get past the pickup and stop the games. He attempted to pass the pickup by heading into the middle or right lane. Seeing this, the pickup driver veered to the right. The driver of the SUV then veered right as well, crashing into the light pole, which split like a toothpick.

Neither the driver of the SUV nor his passenger was wearing seat belts. The driver of the SUV had minor injuries.

We have a woman and an unborn child," Danysh said. "Is it worth it?"
