   JOHN "BUTCH" DANYS, 62, of Garfield died Sunday. Before retiring last year, he was an assistant superintendent for the Garfield Department of Public Works, where he worked for 10 years. Previously, he was a carpenter for Mahoney and Troast and a member of International Brotherhood of Carpenters Union Local 102, both in Jersey City. He also had been assistant vice president of Lynclare in Clifton. He was a Marine Corps veteran, a member of American Legion Post 1000 in Belleville, and a life member and past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 493, Nutley. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Virgin R.C. Church, Garfield. He was a member of the Board of Health and athletic director of the Junior Boilermakers, both in Garfield. Arrangements: Aloia Funeral Home, Garfield.
