   DEBRA R. DANSBY, C.P.A. Senior Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). In her current role, she is responsible for the daily operations of the corporation and directly leads the Finance, Human Resource, Internal Audit and 21st Century Jobs Fund program administration. Specific areas of focus within the back-office teams include financial, strategic, and annual business planning, financial reporting, investment portfolio management, budget, audit, business process review, labor relations, payroll, benefits, intake, and leadership development. The 21st Century Jobs Fund team is engaged in the areas of technology transfer and commercialization, venture capitalization, entrepreneurship, and investment and loan strategies associated with the implementation of the 21st Century Jobs Fund.
   
   Prior to joining the MEDC, Dansby held various roles over nine years with Accident Fund Insurance Company of America. Most recently, as the Strategic Affairs Liaison, she was responsible for the development and implementation of strategic and tactical plans, served as a spokesperson for the President and CEO and worked directly with the Chief Operations Officer to oversee daily operations of the business. During her nine years with Accident Fund Insurance Company of America, Dansby also had responsibility for the company's budget process, financial reporting, taxation, market research and project management. Dansby earned her Certified Public Accounting designation with Deloitte & Touche, LLP in 1996. Her diversified client base included both private and public sector clients. Industry representation included insurance, manufacturing and financial institutions.
   
   Dansby earned a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Hillsdale College.
