On, respectively, 18 and 19 October, alumni of the Amsterdam and the Rhein uhr/Düsseldorf Clubs heard about the Web 2.0 and the Attention Economy: Some Trends and Examples with Enrique Dans, Ph.D., Professor of Information Systems and Technologies at IE.

The talk started by looking at common misconceptions about the term "Web 2.0", widely criticized for being "too vague" and somehow "trendy".What really lies behind Web 2.0, according to Dans, is a substantial change in the relationship paradigm: from relationships that are mostly unidirectional ("read-only") to bidirectional communications among all actors involved. After defining the evolution from "last century's web" to Web 2.0, Professor Dans made a reference to the demise of the "hit economy" and the advent of the so called "long tail economy", drawing from Chris Anderson's last hugely successful book.
