His Majesty Albert II, the King of Belgium, has conferred the title Officer of the Order of Leopold upon Jacques Danois, Secretary General of the Association Mondiale des Amis de l'Enfance (AMADE) and the member of International Committee of Innocence in Danger.This high distinction has been given for his service during his long career as journalist, writer and humanitarian aid field mission officer.Jacques DANOIS was also a war correspondent for RTL in Algeria, Africa and Middle East and during the conflict period in Vietnam.
He then became Information service officer of UNICEF (New York) in South East Asia and in West Africa for twenty years.
Author of a number of books, articles and magazines about the Childhood in the Third World, Jacques DANOIS was conferred the Order in Paris, 18 January 2000, by Mr. Alain RENS, Ambassador of Belgium in France.
