   Williamsville High School is pleased to announce that senior Leslie Dannewitz has been selected as the May Student of the Month. Leslie was selected by the senior class sponsors on the basis of academic performance, extra-curricular participation, and personal traits. Leslie will receive a $100 savings bond from the Williamsville State Bank and will also be eligible for Student of the Year.
   
   Leslie is 18th in her class with a weighted GPA of 4.4. She is an Honor Roll student, a member of Who's Who Among American High School Students, National Honor Roll, and National Society of High School Scholars. She is also a member of the WHS National Honor Society. At WHS, Leslie participated in track her freshman year and cross country during her sophomore year, qualifying for state in both sports. She received a WHS award in track for Most Improved and in cross country for Most Valuable Newcomer.
   
   Leslie is also very involved with dance and piano. She was tested last summer and is now a certified teacher of tap, jazz, ballet, and tumbling with Southern Association of Dance Masters. Leslie is also a member of the Shooting Stars Dance Team and is a dance teacher at Kinner & Company Dance Studio. She teaches piano lessons and has even copyrighted a piano composition titled "La Danse a la Minuit". To benefit the Vocal Music Department, Leslie has volunteered on several occasions to play piano during the WHS Madrigal Tea, Dinner, and Concert Choir events.
   
   Leslie is active in her church and is a member of Ongoing Ambassadors for Christ and the church youth group. She plays piano during services and volunteers for nursery duty & Vacation Bible School. Leslie also traveled with her church to Orlando for an Extreme Service Event and helped dig a pond in a city park. She has participated in St. Jude's Run and Radio-a-Thon. She helped at the American Cancer Society Walk and at St. John's Breadline.

   Leslie Dannewitz - "Ms. Leslie" - Guest Teacher: Leslie has danced at Kinner & Co. Dance Studio for 5 years. Leslie served as a dance teacher assistant at Kinner & Co.Dance Studio last year. Leslie has tested and been accepted as a member of Southern Association of Dance Masters. She is certified to teach tap, ballet and jazz. Leslie is a member of the Shooting Stars Dance Team and has received Top, Grand, 1st and Gold awards for her performance in various group and solo routines. Leslie is a Senior at Williamsville High School and when she graduates plans to further her education and major in dance at college. Leslie is also active in her church where she sometimes plays the piano. Leslie is a Guest Teacher at Kinner and Company Dance Studio.
