Environmental Protection Agency - Sanctioned Tests
Validate Performance of "Petromoly", A New Lubricant
Houston, Texas, February 13, 1997 - Worldwide Petromoly Corporation (NASDAQ BB:MOLY), based in Houston, Texas, announced today that independent tests conducted by the Colorado School of Mines, a sanctioned U.S. Environmental Protection Agency test facility, has validated the ability of the Company's high-performance lubricant ("Petromoly") to significantly reduce NOx exhaust emissions, improve fuel economy, and decrease oil consumption in motor vehicles.
In two controlled experiments conducted a month apart, a 1987 Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD) mass transit bus was operated with Petromoly lubricant for a total of about 4,000 miles. According to the EPA-sanctioned tests, Petromoly achieved the following environmental results -
Fuel economy improved 9.8% to 10.8%, based on exhaust emissions and the actual volume of fuel consumed, respectively.
...
James Danner, president of Worldwide Petromoly Corp., and a former executive with Pennzoil Products Company in Houston, pointed out, "Oil consumption dropped by 37% with the use of our Petromoly lubricant. The bus used in these tests consumed a quart of oil in 750 miles with the RTD's current product and consumed a quart in 1,033 miles with Petromoly. I was an executive for 23 years at the number one market share company in the oil lubricants market and I've never seen a product that can substantiate result's like Petromoly's. Petromoly now sets the standard for the $50 billion per year oil lubricants market."
The EPA-sanctioned tests were conducted in December 1996 and January 1997. The procedures for both oils used in the test - Petromoly and the current RTD lubricant - were the same.

"I think it is very apparent that one of the major pollution problems in U.S. cities today comes from internal combustion engine emissions," said Danner. "Common sense tells us that if by simply changing your oil you can reduce this pollution emission by 14%, it is a big step in the right direction. That's why this EPA-sanctioned test on Petromoly is important not just for us but the nation."
Worldwide Petromoly manufactures, markets and distributes the only high-performance engine oils of their kind for use in all types of motor vehicles, compressor engines and railroad locomotives. The fully formulated engine oil products, which are not merely an engine oil treatment or additive, are the first hydrocarbon-based lubricants to be significantly fortified with molybdenum disulfide. This is powerful antioxidant known to have the world's lowest coefficient for friction.

The following is an addendum to the Petromoly news release dated Feb. 13, 1997 and is a question and answer interview with Petromoly's president, Mr. James Danner.
Q: The test with the Denver RTD / Colorado School of Mines produced strong results. What are the marketing implications of these test results?
A: These results have now been validated in an independent laboratory establishing a precedence for the field test results that we have seen in numerous field tests that have been conducted. This proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Petromoly product line performs at a consistently high level in the areas of fuel efficiency, emissions reduction and reduced oil consumption. The marketing implications are enormous.
