Ernst Danner, Senior Vice President, International Operations, at Voith Sulzer Papiertechnik GmbH & Co. KG, celebrated his 60th birthday on March 01, 2000. In 1957, he started his career as a commercial apprentice at the former J. M. Voith GmbH. After graduating in business economics, he returned to Voith in 1966 as an assistent to the Chief Executive of Paper Machine and Water Turbine Sales. In 1969, Mr. Danner went to London for one year as a delegate for the formation of Voith Engineering Ltd. In 1971, he assumed responsibility for the international sales of large-scale plant and papermaking equipment as head of the department and was given power of attorney in 1974. From 1980, he has been head of the project and order prcessing division and responsible for Contracting and Controlling, Handling of International Sales, Division Controlling and Corporate Planning for paper-machine production. In 1990, he was appointed to the Paper Technology Corporate Division Management Board and was a member of the Board of Management of Voith Sulzer Papiermaschinen GmbH, in Heidenheim, from October 1994 to March 1998. Since April 1998, he has been Senior Vice President, International Operations, at Voith Sulzer Papiertechnik GmbH & Co. KG. In this function, he is responsible for the central management of the marketing companies and various Voith Sulzer Paper Technology company units that are being developed in the international field. -
