    Erwin Danneels has been Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts

    since 2000. He obtained his PhD in Marketing from Penn State University. Prior to joining WPI, he was Visiting Assistant Professor at the Goizueta Business School, Emory University. At WPI he teaches MG 3600 (Undergrad) "Marketing Management," MG 3640 "Management of Process and Product Innovation" (Undergrad), and "Marketing of Emerging Technologies" (Graduate). His research area of interest includes the growth and renewal of corporations through product innovation, the nature and consequences of product innovativeness, the characteristics of corporations with innovative new product programs, and the performance effects of innovative new product programs. He has published in such leading journals as the Journal of Product Innovation Management and the Strategic Management Journal. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Product Innovation Management, and has served as ad hoc reviewer for the Journal of Marketing, the Journal of Academy of Marketing Science, the Journal of Business Research, as well as for the PDMA Research Conference, Academy of Management - BPS Division, and the AMA Conferences. His doctoral dissertation examined how product innovation drives firm growth and renewal. Erwin received three dissertation competition awards with his dissertation proposal, including the Best Dissertation Proposal from the Product Development and Management Association. Professor Danneels worked as a project leader in a market research firm in Belgium, primarily in the area of concept development and testing of consumer and industrial products. He has also been a consultant for the business incubator associated with Penn State, where he developed a decision tool for start-up firms to evaluate new product opportunities.

    Erwin Danneels , a native of Belgium , and now of Marlboro , Mass. , is an assistant professor in the Department of Management. He earned a 1998 Ph.D. in business administration , with a concentration in marketing , from Pennsylvania State University , a 1994 M.S. in textiles from the University of California at Davis and a 1991 M.B.A. and a 1990 B.A. degree in sociology at the University of Ghent , Belgium. He has been a visiting assistant professor of marketing at the Goizueta Business School at Emory University for the past two years.
