   Stefanie Danne, media relations officer at Deutsche Post World Net, hopes the trial will advance the development of RFID and move towards the standardisation of RFID tags.
   
   ‘By pooling together the expertise of all these global companies, the technology will become more efficient and help standardisation,' explains Danne.
   
   Danne says that at the moment RFID tags are still too expensive for DHL to tag delivery packages at item level. In addition the lack of standardisation is also holding back the adoption of item level by DHL.
