1. Monthly Employee Spotlight - Satellite Logistics
www.sstraffic.com/Spotlight.as - [Cached]Published on: 10/6/2003 Last Visited: 10/6/2003
Jon Danley is a Heineken Beverage Coordinator in our Houston Distribution Center. He joined our team in December, 2000. Jon started with Satellite Logistics Group as warehouseman, but due to his ability and dedication was soon promoted to warehouse supervisor. In the past two and a half years Jon has worked with kegs, food products, fiberglass and other products. His focus had recently narrowed to working with Heineken and Fischer products. Jon's co-workers and management recognized his great leadership qualities as well as his organizational skills.
...
Continuing with his work ethics, Jon proved yet again that he could handle more responsibility and because of his desire to learn and challenge himself, he has recently been promoted to the position of Heineken Beverage Coordinator. He will team with Blanca Pantoja in serving our Heineken partners.
Jon shows a great deal of pride in his work at Satellite Logistics Group, but that pride pales in comparison to the pride he shows when you ask him about his five-year old son, Seth. Being a good father is the most important job in Jon's eyes. These two "buds" spend as much time together as possible, and as much of that time, fishing. In keeping with his belief in family value and unity, Jon goes to Arkansas once a year to visit his parents, where he always finds time to help beautify their home and yard.
Jon, an avid outdoorsman, recently moved to the wide open spaces of Huffman, Texas (not far from Houston). His love of fishing has earned him the nickname, Jon "Catfish" Danley. Regardless of how long he has lived here, his heart remains true to the Pittsburgh Steelers' Black and Gold and the Arkansas Razorbacks. You have to respect a man who supports "out-of-state" football teams in the midst of Texan, Cowboy, Longhorn and Aggie country!
If you ever have a few moments to visit with Jon he will talk to you about his favorite subjects: fishing (you decide which parts are true and which are embellished), football (be prepared to hear all about the Steelers) and most importantly, Seth.
Jon takes his work as a Father and as a Satellite Logistics Group team member very seriously. It is definitely true in his case that being good at the one job, makes him better at the other. Jon doesn't look for recognition. He does the best job he can - because to him, to accept less than that of himself is not an option. We applaud Jon as a co-worker, a leader and a great father. It is our privilege to spotlight such an exceptional man, Jon Danley. -
