- Danielson, 17, of Johnston was worried when he was called to the principal's office, but that feeling faded after finding out he was there for the award.

"I was really surprised," Danielson said.

"I spend a lot of time working with different groups, spend a lot of time getting involved," Danielson said.

After graduation, he will attend Iowa Sate University and major in civil engineering.
