   In a remote village in Zaire, Colonel Sam Daniels, an Army medical researcher, discovers the most deadly virus he has ever seen. The Motaba virus is extremely contagious, and kills those infected with it within 24 hours. Daniels' superior, General Ford, assures him that because the site of the epidemic was so remote, no one infected could have gotten out alive to pass it on. Still, Daniels has a bad feeling. A monkey carrying the virus ends up in California, and soon Motaba is spreading through small town Cedar Creek. Daniels and his ex-wife Robby Keough-a biohazard specialist with the Center for Disease Control--are both dispatched to the scene.

   Colonel Sam Daniels, a doctor for the US Army Medical Research Institute for Infectious Diseases, was in the process of finding the host of the Motaba virus - an escaped African monkey that had been brought in by the CIA to the conflict in Vietnam to develop a chemical agent to use against the Viet Cong and NVA.

   Blaming his wife's death on the American government, Daniels decides to call in a favour from an old friend in the CIA, retired MACVSOG sniper Major Richard "Foxtail" Boyer who enlists the help of the special-forces unit RED.

   Daniels is now wanted for treason and is hiding somewhere in the jungle with a large number of RED unit operators, lead by an agent known only as "KnifeWound", ready to die for him. A Marine unit was sent in pursuit but was killed in action. Intelligence shows that Daniels' militia are scattered around the jungle and small clearings. All members of the militia are wanted dead or alive.
   
   A 173rd Airborne Company has been ordered into the area under the command of Captain Sean Coutts to bring Daniels and his men to justice.
