   New owners Jeffery E. Daniels and Daniel DeLuke intend to begin renovating the interior of Daniele at Alfredo's in February.

   The anticipated cost of renovations is about $350,000, and up to 40 people could be employed there, Daniels said.
   
   The original Alfredo's was built in 1974, according to the town assessor's office. Today, the 16,900-square-foot space can fit more than 1,000 guests, including about 500 in the main ballroom, Daniels said.

   Daniels said he's banking on the facility's ballroom to draw customers. He intends to host wedding receptions, banquets and dinner theater shows. The facility has already hosted a bridal show and some banquets since Daniels and DeLuke acquired it in November.

   By spring, that could include a daily lunch buffet geared toward employees at surrounding businesses, Daniels said.
   
   Daniels said the new business does not mean his family will leave Valley View, where it has a 10-year contract with the city.
   
   "We love it there, and we plan on staying another 10," he said.

   Jeffrey E. Daniels Jr., an operating partner of Daniele's at Valley View and audio-visual technician with the Utica schools, also is accused of selling fake satellite-access cards.
   
   Daniels, 38, of Sherman Drive in Utica, was charged with five other suspects, including Utica attorney Kenneth Ray, following raids by state police and Utica investigators about 7 a.m. Monday, District Attorney Michael Arcuri said.

   But Daniels, speaking to the O-D Tuesday, said he was innocent of all the charges, and that they shouldn't have any impact on either of his jobs.
   
   "Aren't you innocent until proven guilty?" he said, but wouldn't answer further questions.
   
   According to suspects' case files in Utica City Court, Daniels and co-defendant Joseph Birmingham are accused of taking 68 bets on Jan. 10 and Jan. 11-- the weekend of the NFL's quarterfinal playoffs round.
