Murley's daughter, Kim, whose cross country team at Denison University just finished eight in national competition, introduced Richard Daniels, principal of Roslund and Mehoopany elementary schools, to give a charge from the school. She said Daniels, her seventh grade science teacher, had a great influence in molding young people, as he had encouraged her to join the cross country team."He always cared about runners as people," she said.Daniels acknowledged that the Eagle Scout candidates were "an awesome group with awesome responsibilities" and he said it was too bad more young people were not always being held to the highest standards. He made sure to pass on some of the credit to the parents, to whom he said "they couldn't have done this without your support."
