It was in 1999, her first year on the 6pm and 11pm newscasts, that NEWSCHANNEL 3 was named Best Newscast by the Michigan Associated Press. Prior to that, Diane worked four years as the weekend anchor of the News 3 morning and noon newscasts.
Diane's broadcast career spans the midwest and includes stops at four major-network television stations. She began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter at KXMB-TV (CBS) in Minot/Bismarck/Dickinson, North Dakota. From there, she moved to Des Moines, Iowa, where she worked three years as an anchor and reporter for WOI-TV (ABC). After that, Diane accepted an anchor/reporter position at WSJV-TV (ABC) in South Bend/Elkhart, Indiana. She came to WWMT-TV and NEWSCHANNEL 3 for the first time as a reporter in 1990. Diane went back to WSJV-TV in 1991, before returning to News 3 in 1995 to take over the weekend morning and noon anchor seat.
Diane has accumulated numerous broadcasting awards during her career. Her awards include an Honorable Mention in the Documentary division from the Iowa Broadcast News Association, and First Place for General Assignment Reporting from the Iowa Associated Press. The Iowa Health Care Association presented Diane with the Media of the Year Award. While in Indiana, she received an two Honorable Mention awards for Best Spot News from the Indiana Associated Press. The Michigan United Press International awarded her an Honorable Mention for Spot News Reporting, as well.
Diane graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications from Iowa State University.
Diane married a West Michigan native in 1992 and the couple has a son. -
