   ...
   Bruce Daniels is a a senior staff engineer, responsible for the Ace group researching the specification and optimal generation of enterprise Java applications. Previously at Sun, Bruce has been the architect for the ExpressApp/RapidApp project in the Tools organization, the architect for Sun application development in Information Technologies, and software manager for the original SparcStation.
   
   Prior to Sun, Bruce was the principal architect for the Tools Division of Oracle. He founded and was President of a start-up that created a relational database product for the Macintosh. He was also an architect for the software for the initial Macintosh and the software manager for the Lisa system at Apple Computer.
   
   He holds a B.S. & M.S. and did some Ph.D. work in computer science at MIT.

   Bruce K. Daniels and Gary C. Shallcross were reappointed as members of the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Coastal Region.

   Mr. Daniels, 53, of Capitola, has been a member of the Board since December 1999 and is a Senior Staff Engineer at Sun Microsystems, a position he has held since 1992. While in this position, he worked as a scientist, researching water issues affecting Santa Cruz County. Mr. Daniels also serves as Director of the Soquel Creek Water District, having been elected in 2000. He earned bachelor and master of science degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
