Alice Daniels

Born in Elm City in 1952 to Frank and Alice Daniels, she is the seventh of eighth children.Her mother was a homemaker and did some farm work before later taking a job in a local tobacco factory.Daniels describes her father as a general laborer, who took yard maintenance and other odd jobs.

Daniels, 55, graduated from Elm City High School in 1970.That same year, her family moved to Wilson.

Daniels moved north and enrolled in the Federal City College in Washington, D.C.She received her bachelor's degree in social work in 1973 and went on to earn her master's degree in social work from Howard University in 1975.

In 1982, Daniels returned to Wilson and helped care for her mother until her death two years ago.

For the past five years, Daniels has also been selling real estate for Ronald Glover Realty of Wilson.She considers it her future retirement career.

When she's not working, Daniels enjoys doing needlepoint and quilting.Her mother loved to quilt, and Daniels plans to complete some of her mother's quilting projects.

Daniels also likes watching home and garden television shows and helping with local Christian ministries when she can.
