   A. Roy Daniels, Music Director
   
   St. Michael's by-the-Sea's Director of Music, A. Roy Daniels, was born in Oklahoma in 1943. He received his earliest musical training while attending Oklahoma Baptist University his senior year in high school, studying organ with Virginia Denyer Reece. He received a Bachelor of Music Education in Bassoon and a Bachelor of Music in Organ from the University of Oklahoma in 1966 and a Masters in Organ Performance from Oklahoma "University in 1970 studying with Mildred Andrews. He has performed in various orchestras throughout the United States and held positions as organist and choirmaster in several churches in the Southwest. He has been at St. Michael's since 1990 where he has overseen the choir's growth to become one of the finest choral groups in North County.
   
   Mr. Daniels has studied and coached in Europe and the United States under Marie-Louise Langlais, and Gere Hancock, among others.
