   Dr. Theodore Daniel, Jr., (Grosse Pointe Park) has assumed the expanded role of chief medical information officer (CMIO) for St. John Health starting January 1, 2006. St. John Health (SJH) is pleased to announce that Dr. Theodore Daniel, Jr., (Grosse Pointe Park) has assumed the expanded role of chief medical information officer (CMIO) for St. John Health starting January 1, 2006. In this new role, Dr. Daniel will be responsible for ensuring coordination and management of clinical information and systems to improve quality of care, service and enhancement of medical knowledge, as well as represent the needs of physicians for efficiency and effectiveness in using information technology and participate in the design of clinical pathway models.

   Dr. Daniel has been with SJH since 1983, having completed his Pediatric Internship and Residency at St. John Hospital and Medical Center (SJH&MC). In 1986, he joined Cornerstone Health Services and, since then, has been active in leadership roles at SJH&MC, serving on the Executive Board of the St. John Medical Group and Cornerstone Health Services.
   
   Dr. Daniel is a graduate of the Wayne State University School of Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
