While the brothers were in custody, Deputy Richard Daniel of the Hesperia station S.M.A.S.H team did some further investigating and was able to secure a search warrant for the Munoz's home in the 17800 block of Bascom street, officials said.

The driver sped away and Daniel followed him until the suspect deliberately maneuvered his vehicle into the deputy, causing his motorcycle to go down, deputies said.Daniel suffered injuries to his right wrist, both arms and legs.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Roxanne Walker said Daniel was treated and released from St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley with a broken thumb as well as several cuts and bruises.
