Peter Daniel, a final year industrial design and technology student at Loughborough, has been highly commended by the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce (RSA) for his design of a state of the art mobile communicator for leading manufacturer Sony.
The judging panel were 'impressed with the high standard of work' that Peter expressed in his challenging project; to produce a design concept that meets the demands of the rapidly changing world of mobile communication. 'The product allows the user to express themselves through interchangeable fascias, as well as full colour picture messaging, motion video and 3D sound,' said Peter.In addition to appealing to the image conscious, Peter's communicator design is crammed full of functional and security features for the gadget fan. 'Fingerprint security is activated by touching a rollerball, there's built-in help libraries, a dictionary, and the option of linking up to your home computer,' he added.
