   Marty, as she is known by most, is an exceptionally well trained and talented wilderness instructor. Her energy and enthusiasm for wilderness-based programming are contagious. She currently holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation with an emphasis in Outdoor Therapy from Middle Tennessee State University. In the course of her undergraduate studies Marty developed an impressive knowledge base in the areas of environmental issues, outdoor leadership, outdoor management, therapeutic recreation (ADA), wilderness survival skills, and physical education. Her education and work experience as a white water rafting guide, and ACA wilderness instructor, and a personal trainer included certifications in First Aid, CPR, Water Safety, high and low ropes course facilitation, and swift water rescue. Marty has worked extensively with adolescents who were considered "at-risk" and who were placed in long-term structured therapeutic programs. In addition to her other qualifications, she is currently certified as an Alpine Climbing Tower Facilitator, Leave No Trace Trainer, and TACT-2 (Therapeutic Aggression Control Technique) Service Provider.
