That is the typical response some people have when they first hear the "straight ahead" Milford, Conn., rock trio, The Limit, perform, said Marc Daniel, guitarist and vocalist.
...
Daniel remembered the first time he desired to play an instrument. When he was little, he watched Michael J. Fox in the film, Back to the Future, string his guitar. He thought it looked so cool, that he decided to give it a try.During the early '80s when the film was made, more "straight-ahead" rock bands existed.
Back to the present, Daniel and the other band members try to capture the magic of classic rock to perform in front of the masses even though few bands fit into this particular category.
Daniel said people are used to listening to Emo, metal and other genres. Therefore, some people cannot recognize this almost long-ago genre, which is classified as just rock. However, Daniel said he does not mind how their music puts them apart from everyone else.
"We stick out," Daniel said."There are not many straight ahead rock bands breaking out right now.I am proud of myself for being different."
The Limit has been compared to such rock greats as Van Halen. However, Daniel said most people compared the band's genre to grunge.
"It is the most recent type of classic rock," Daniel said.
Speaking of classic, The Limit has been receiving royal treatment already in the form of its recording environment: a castle.
