When Wu was 50, his lover Shan Dan wrote a story about him, unromantic but true.Such a forthright man put all his feelings to the grassland and the love in his blood to his artworks.

Wu Enqi's artworks are massive and beefy, they are all about the grassland.He went to the grassland for sketching, he sucked the smell of mutton, drank together with the herds, sang Mongolia songs and drunk together.When he joined Nadamu Festival, he would draw the galLoping horses, white sheep and beefy wrestlers and old mothers.He let himself melt into the grassland and his artworks.The grassland is his desire, is his prays, he hope the green, the harmonious and the good entironment will be there forever as he loves his hometown and his career.

Shan Dan

Shan Dan, Dawoer minority, she was born in Inner Mongolia in 1954.Now she is member of Chinese Artists' Association, member of Chinese Printmakers' Association, member of Chinese Art Education Seminar, vice president of Tongliao city's Artists' Association, and vice professor of Tongliao Professional Institut of Inner Mongolia.

She finished her studies at Normal School of Tongliao Zelimumeng, and continued her graduated studies at Central Academy of Fine Arts.From 1973, she began her creations of New Year Painting, paper-cut, illustration, prints and traditional paintings.Her artworks were shown at National and International exhibitions.

Story: Further educated in the Print Department of Advanced Art College

Under the influence of his father, Wu Enqi had engaged with the print creation and annual pictures creation; and also he had drawn the comic strip and illustrations.But he found that his ability was still not equal to his ambition, so he was eager to have the chance of further training.In 1982, he got the chance finally.He had been matriculated by the Print Department of the Central Art College.It was the place where his father learned before.During 1959 to 1962, when China was suffered three years' natural disaster, his father was chosen in as the youth national painter.

In 1986, six members of the Small Print Union had got the honor of "print world" issued by the People Art Publishing Company, they are: Wu Enqi, Shan Dan, Shao Chunguang, Gu Xinhua, Deriger, Liu Xiaodong.
