Paul Daley, general manager at the Southport Home Hardware in Stratford, says items like chainsaws and generators sold out on Monday, when the store opened for business, but without power.
"I would say we've probably sold about 25 generators, and that's unheard of, of course, in typical times," says Daley."But 25 in two days is a big day. It's been wild, to say the least."
Daley says overall sales are up 20 per cent since the tropical storm hit.
