The Board's (teacher) Team Members are Sue Mascaro (Director of Staff Relations and Chief Negotiator), Mark Blom (Chief Legal Counsel), Patricia Daley (Special Education Coordinator), Mike Johnson (Finance Officer), Marion Miller (Administrative Director of Elementary Schools), Clarissa Evans (Executive Director of Secondary Curricular Programs), and Pamela Blackwell (Director of Student Services).

According to Special Education Coordinator Patti Daley and Social Studies Coordinator Mark Stout, who chaired the committee, a number of other names were considered but parents and staff felt strongly that preserving the name would provide continuity and consistency and reassure parents as the school's program is moved to the new facility.

The Outstanding Education Award was presented to Dr. James Walsh, Director of Special Education, and Patricia Daley, Coordinator of Special Education, with Howard County Public Schools, who were recognized for their leadership and their partnership with families.

Over the last two years, both Dr. Walsh and Ms. Daley have worked alongside the Howard County Autism Society to develop new early intervention programming for young children with autism.
