Michael Dailey

MICHAEL DAILEYLiturgical Music Dailey currently serves as Pastoral Musician at St. John the Evangelist Church in West Chester, where he oversees an active music ministry with three choirs, a parish orchestra, and a hand bell choir.He is also active as a composer of liturgical and choral music, and his compositions have had premiers in churches throughout the United States, Great Britain and France.

Mike has served as a board member of the National Pastoral Musicians Cincinnati Chapter, and is a member of the Archdiocesan Music Committee.He grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah before moving to Washington State to earn an organ performance degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, where he also served as accompanist to the school's Choir of the West on local and international concert tours and two recordings.He has served as an organist and choirmaster in Catholic and Lutheran churches in Utah, Washington State and Ohio.In his free time, he enjoys hiking, working out, singing in the Athenaeum Chorale at Mt. St. Mary's Seminary, and reading.

Friday, May 9th's 'Around the Square' concert will feature classical guitarist, Michael Dailey, of Ft. Worth. Dailey has performed professionally since the age of fourteen. He began teaching in Phoenix, Arizona in 1984, and opened The Guitar Studio in Ft. Worth in 1986. Dailey has also taught classes at Tarrant County College and Texas Wesleyan University. Throughout his career, Dailey has studied under Miguel Bernal and Andres Segovia.

Dailey uses this classical training together with his experiences growing up in the folk scene of the 60's and 70's to provide students with a broad base of guitar instruction.

The last two 'Around the Square' concerts in this series will be on Friday, May 9th, and Friday, June 13 th, and will feature Michael Dailey and Doug Smith, respectively.

Michael Dailey is a guitarist and teacher of impressive background.He has studied with Andres Segovia, Christopher Parkening, Manuel Lopez Ramos, Pepe Romero and other famous guitarists too numerous to mention.In addition to his classical background, Mr. Dailey was also a professional studio musician and toured with "Swallow", a rock band that opened "Grateful Dead" concerts for two years.Besides teaching for Northwest Music, Mr. Dailey owns and operates his own guitar business.
