While in high school Curtis has been involved in the following activities:
Students council, 2002-2006; student council president, 2005-2006; parliamentarian, 2004-2005; executive board member, 2004-2005; Student Council "Red Ribbon Week" committee, 2002-2006; and chairman of the "Red Ribbon Week" committee in 2003.
Curtis has served as class president, 2003-2004; class vice president, 2002-2003; Key Club, 2002-2006; Key Club Treasurer, 2005-2006; Key Club President, 2004-2005; Key Club officer, 2003-2004; National Honor Society member, 2003-2006; NHS vice president, 2005-2006; TEAM Member, Drama Club, 2002-2004; FCA, 2002-2006; and FCA vice president, 2005-2006.
He has received the followed academic and social awards:Spade Award for the highest ranking junior student, 2005; "A" honor roll, 2002-2006; Wills Point Academic Award, 2002-2005; Superintendent's Honor Roll Award, 2002-2005; Who's Who Among American High School Students, 2002-2006; Who's Who ninth grade in Pre-AP English 1, Pre AP biology, Pre AP algebra 2, Who's Who tenth grade in Pre AP English 2, Pre AP chemistry, Pre AP geometry, and BCIS.
Who's Who eleventh grade Pre AP pre calculus, Who's Who twelfth grade Pre AP physics and AP biology.
Also he was a member of the Tiger Pride Team, 2002-2006; National Honor Roll, 2002-20069; All-American Scholar, 2002-2006; National Leadership Merit Award, 2003-2005; USAA All-American Scholar, 2002-2006; Student of the Month; VFW "How I Demonstrate My Freedom Award," 2005-2006; Wills Point Chamber of Commerce Student of the Year, 2006; Pilot Club Award for Patriotism, 2006; Kiwanis Sophomore of the Year, 2004; Best All Round, 2006; Most Likely To Succeed, 2006; Student Council Beau, 2004.2005 and 2006; and NHS Beau, 2006.
Curtis participated in tennis 2002-2006.He was a member of the varsity team, 2002-2006; third place in district doubles, 2003; regional qualifier, team tennis, 2003-2005; boys singles district champion, 2004; regional boys singles qualifier, 2004-2005; academic all-district, 2003-2005; and Wills Point High School Outstanding Tennis Award, 2005-2006.
He was also a member of the football team 2002.Curtis has been an active member of First Baptist Church, 2001-2005 and at the Methodist church, 2006.
He has been a member of the First Baptist Church Youth Council, 2002-2005; Kiwanis Volunteer for Flag Project, 2000-2006; Salvation Army Bell Ringer, 2004-2005; Adult ESL class volunteer, went on a mission trip to New Mexico in 2004 and was a "Penny's for Patients" volunteer, 2003-2005.
He has participated in the American Cancer Society "Relay for Life' as a volunteer, 2001-2005; Cystic Fibrosis Walk Volunteer, 2003-2004; blood drive volunteer and donor, 2002-2005; student council hurricane relief fund helping raise more than $5,000, student council toiletry drive for hurricane victims, Van Zandt County Benevolence Center Volunteer, "Rainbow Room" clothing drive volunteer, student council Christmas toy drive, 2003-2005; Key Club "Angel Tree" drive, four year; and PTO Halloween Carnival participant, 2002-2003.
He received the following college scholarships: Texas State Valedictorian Scholarship, Nations Foundation Scholarship, Texas A&M Presidential Achievement Scholarship, ATPE Scholarship, Medical Center at Terrell Auxiliary Scholarship, WPHS Student Council Scholarship, Wal-Mart Scholarship, Wills Point Chamber of Commerce Scholarship, Texas Aggie Scholarship and Wills Point High School National Honor Society Scholarship.
