One of Prep's most respected faculty members, history teacher Marie Curry, has been named to the newly created position of Dean of Faculty, announced Prep principal Kevin Cuddihy in June.

A former chairperson of the Prep history department, Marie holds a M.S. in educational administration & supervision from Fordham University, and a B.A. from Cornell University.Her background in Ignatian formation includes a three-year program in Ignatian Leadership sponsored by the Jesuit Secondary Education Association (JSEA), and participation in the JSEA's National Colloquium on Ignatian Education.She is a member of the steering committee for the JSEA's inaugural Leadership Academy to be held in 2008. Marie also holds the distinction of being the first female faculty member to lead an Emmaus Retreat, and she has served as coach of the forensics (speech & debate) team, and moderator of The Petroc, the student council, and Prep's chapter of Amnesty International.In 2005, she directed the German Exchange, a program she has participated in since 1995.A valued advisor to the administration, she has chaired or been a member of numerous committees, including serving as faculty representative to the Board of Trustees."In the school's Philosophy and Goals document, it states that 'St.Peter's sees its faculty as the primary influence for intellectual, physical, personal, social and religious formation' of its students," she noted.
