Herkimer County Community College Campus Safety Officers Edward Cullen and Mike Treadwell graduated from the Police Academy on January 16 at Onondaga Community College, qualifying them for Peace Officer status.

Edward Cullen was hired as Campus Safety Officer I at HCCC in 2007. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1982-1988 when he was honorably discharged. He continued as an Army Reservist from 1988-1995. From 1990-2000, Cullen was employed as a Corrections Officer at the State of Connecticut Department of Corrections, Bridgeport Correctional Center. He is trained in fire police, fire behavior and arson awareness and was a certified first responder.

The College now has nine peace officers on staff. Edward Cullen was hired as Campus Safety Officer I at HCCC in 2007. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1982-1988 when he was honorably discharged. He continued as an Army Reservist from 1988-1995. From 1990-2000, Cullen was employed as a Corrections Officer at the State of Connecticut Department of Corrections, Bridgeport Correctional Center. Mike Treadwell was hired as a part-time Campus Safety Officer IV in 2007 and became full-time in 2008.
