"I actually found the site a few years back," said Aaron Crutchfield, a Paso Robles High and Fresno State graduate."So it came in handy over in Fresno trying to keep up with how some of the schools were doing over here."
Crutchfield, a reporter for the Atascadero News, now finds Treankler's page useful when putting together his football coverage.
The site's especially helpful if someone wants to know how many years it's been since one team has lost to another, since the Northern League was morphed into the PAC 5 and later PAC 7, or when Nipomo first started playing varsity.
"It's on my bookmarks list on my browser," Crutchfield said."It's my first entry."
Little does Crutchfield or any other media members who depend on Treankler's site know how close he's been to shutting it down.
He's spent countless hours in the past 10 years typing schedules, confirming scores through radio, newspaper and television reports.
