Robert Cruickshank joined C-COR in July 2004 as part of C-COR's acquisition of Stargus, Inc.He is responsible for helping Broadband Service Providers get the most value from C-COR's OSS products.Cruickshank co-founded Stargus in June 2000 to monitor, manage and unleash the communications power of cable modem networks.
Prior to Stargus, Cruickshank served as Vice President - Engineering and interim Chief Technology Officer at Road Runner High Speed On-line.His team designed and helped deploy state-of-the-art broadband networks and data centers across the US, and helped triple the subscriber base each year.
Before joining Road Runner, Cruickshank was Vice President - Broadband Internet Access at Cable Television Laboratories, Inc., where he spearheaded efforts to evaluate proprietary early-generation cable modems.Unsatisfied with the performance of existing modem systems, Cruickshank led the CableLabs, cable operator, and vendor team in creating the DOCSIS Development, Interoperability, Standardization, and Certification programs.A founding member of the SCTE Data Standards Subcommittee, he currently serves as the group's secretary.
Prior to DOCSIS, Cruickshank was Second in command of Lockheed's C-130H Hercules cargo aircraft for the Wyoming Air National Guard and Founder and Head of the ATM switch Testing Program at the University of Colorado at Boulder.In addition to his PhD research in telecommunications-based environmental control systems, Cruickshank served as Member of Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories.Cruickshank attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he earned his Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees (with honors) in Mechanical Engineering.
