   Robyn Crowther is a skilled commercial litigator with particular expertise in the entertainment industry.Cases on which she has worked have involved intellectual property issues, including copyright and trademark infringement, idea theft, emerging technology and domain name ownership, as well as breach of contract claims.Consequently, Robyn's entertainment cases have required her to become familiar with various customs and practices in the industry.Robyn has also developed specialties in two areas: writs of attachment and execution, and California partnership law.
   
   In many of Robyn's cases, the goal was to conduct sufficient discovery to prepare a motion for summary judgment.Robyn has a strong track record for winning these motions.Similarly, she has litigated multiple applications for writs of attachment, and whether she filed the application or opposed it, our client has obtained either the result requested from the Court or a very favorable resolution while the application was pending.
   
   Robyn also worked on a complicated federal court copyright and trademark action that involved multiple discovery disputes heard by the Magistrate Judge, as well as litigation of "bet the company" preliminary injunction issues.Robyn worked to find, retain and consult with expert witnesses on both technical issues relating to the Internet and legal issues relating to trademark infringement and damages.In addition, Robyn has represented the defendant in a large environmental case spanning many years that has given rise to multiple discovery disputes, including disputes about taking and analyzing samples from various oil wells, and claims asserted before various environmental agencies as well as the superior court.Robyn has engaged various experts and consultants who are helping to analyze the documents and other evidence in the case.
   
   SIGNIFICANT MATTERS:
   
   Robyn litigated an idea theft case under California law arising out of Plaintiffs' claim that our client misappropriated their idea for a television show (which became a popular network television series).We litigated copyright preemption in federal court and, when the case was remanded to state court, we filed and won a motion for summary judgment.
   
   Robyn worked on an arbitration that involved claims for breach of contract and interference with potential economic relations arising out of various agreements involving rights to a well-known television series and character.We filed and won a motion for summary disposition (similar to a motion for summary judgment) in this action.
   
   Robyn litigated several intellectual property issues.The lawsuit involved breach of contract claims, claims for trademark and copyright infringement, a dispute over the ownership of Internet domain names, and claims for intentional interference with existing and prospective contracts.We obtained a voluntary dismissal by the plaintiffs of all claims against one of our individual clients, an order from the federal court dismissing the claims against the other client in the federal court action for lack of jurisdiction, and summary judgment in state court for that client on all the claims asserted against him.
   
   Robyn represented a group of doctors in a case in which a financing company attempted to collect on a note signed by a partnership from which our clients had resigned.We obtained summary judgment in favor of our clients, and Robyn defended the judgment before the California Court of Appeal.Robyn also collected attorneys' fees from the opposing party.
