   Peter has been with OPITO since April 2002 and has responsibility for the delivery of the projects designed to help alleviate skills shortages within the oil and gas industry. Peter also has responsibility for the Standards and Qualifications within OPITO's remit. This involves working with employers to develop national occupational standards and awarding bodies to introduce S/NVQs. Before joining OPITO, Peter worked for a short spell in education; this followed over 20 years in the oil and gas sector based in NE Scotland . For the majority of this time he was a Training Manager with a large Exploration and Production Company. He has many years of experience in dealing with issues related to competence, education and standards.
